1. Expertise

Our translators are native speakers of the target language. They have a degree in translation or an equivalent degree (usually a master's) and the necessary experience with translation. What they have in common: they are experts in EU regulation. Translation work for the EU institutions and training organised by the EU have contributed to their experience. When compliance is important, for example in sector regulation, contracts, annual reports or sustainability reports, you can trust us to use the relevant terminology.

When you have a project that requires a different expertise, we will check if we have the right profile in our team. When we do not, we can often refer you to a trusted partner. The right match is essential for a great result!

 

2. Decentralised Structure and Smooth Collaboration

Translators often live in their native country, so not in Belgium (where we are located). They work remotely for Word Atlas. We applied this structure throughout the company. We keep our overhead cost low by organising project coordination remotely and adding additional help flexibly.

Autonomy is crucial here: when you entrust us with your project, you will be in contact with one project coordinator who is well-trained and has the authority to take decisions. That leads to clear and fast communication, without intermediaries.

In such a structure, it is necessary to promote engagement. Our employees have video calls at set times and we occasionally meet in person. Our translators talk to each other on our platform: we encourage translators and revisers to discuss translation issues and reference material. We know that this improves the quality of the translations.

 

3. Solution-Oriented Offers

We discuss the needs in your company and search for solutions together. That is why we do not only offer translation - we also have partners with their own expertise. Three examples:

• Editing (editing texts to make them more fluent or to correct any terminology issues)
• Branding localisation
• Consultancy (one of our partners is an agency specialised in CSRD, the sustainability reporting for the EU)

4. Customised Offers

We do not work with pre-defined packages. Based on the needs of your company, we will present an offer. For translation, options are human translation, or a combination of tools such as AI with human revisers. This depends on the goal of the text and your preferences. Especially in case one of our partners is involved, a customised offer is necessary.
